Pre-release

A quiet place to listen to what you meant to read.

Beluga reads articles, PDFs and your own words aloud, with speech made right on your device. Free. No login. Nothing tracked.

It’s in early testing and isn’t publicly available yet.

Privacy policy

Nothing to collect. Nothing collected.

Beluga has no account, analytics, advertising or tracking. The app does not send its makers your library, listening history or usage data.

Last updated 22 October 2026 · Covers the pre-release app and this website.

On your device

The text, PDFs, playlists and listening progress you save, the topics Beluga suggests and the speech it makes are all created and kept on your device.

The voice is an experimental AI model that runs locally. Nothing you read is sent to a remote AI service.

When Beluga goes online

Only when you choose to import a link. Beluga contacts the publisher and any servers that provide the page or its artwork. Those services see ordinary requests, including your IP address, and their own policies apply.

After that, listening needs no connection.

Backups and copies

Beluga asks your device to leave its library out of automatic cloud backups. Anything you export yourself, and how your device backs up or syncs, follows your own choices and settings.

Your control

Delete readings in the app whenever you like. We hold no copy, so there’s nothing for us to send you or erase.

This website

No cookies, local storage, analytics, or outside fonts, scripts or images. The website host processes ordinary request details such as your IP address and browser to deliver pages and keep them secure.

That’s separate from the app, which has no developer backend. Your operating system or app distributor may separately process downloads or diagnostics under their own policies and your settings.

Changes

Beluga is pre-release, so this may change. Any update will appear here with a new date.
